Job Summary:

Maximize overall revenue and profit through development and implementation of effective inventory and pricing strategies based on future demand forecasts, current trends and historical data. Responsible for determining optimal mix of business and managing distribution strategies on all channels to increase revenue and drive market share. Communicate revenue management strategic vision to leadership team at all properties.

Job Responsibility & Duties:

  • Drive market share and revenue performance through proper pricing, inventory controls and management of business mix
  • Develop overall pricing strategy to include all market segments and distribution channels
  • Pro-actively identify and analyze peak days and shoulder days taking into consideration past performance as well as new industry trends
  • Pro-actively identify and analyse business opportunities from a net profit standpoint and make appropriate business decisions
  • Review and analyse STR data on a weekly (where available) and monthly basis with hotel team.
  • Closely monitor competitor pricing and understand impact of pricing decisions on property performance
  • Ensure effective pricing strategies are in place to reflect property strength in relation to competition and market conditions
  • Effectively manage inventory and pricing strategy on all distribution channels including Brand site, 3rd Party Sites (OTAs) and GDS
  • Compile Weekly Analysis reports to analyze key drivers of market share performance and understand overall effectiveness of strategies
  • Provide guidance on corporate and wholesale transient segment pricing
  • Provide guidance on group availability and pricing. Ensure group selling guidelines and target rates are updated on a regular basis
  • Lead the budget process for top line room revenue numbers and work together with the Area Director of Sales on the pricing and contracting strategy for the next year
  • Group Business – consult with the sales team on rate/inventory suitability of all potential group business. Oversee the management of Group Block activities. Ensure group cut-off dates, rooming lists, group block activities (i.e. pick-up, wash) are being well managed.
  • Clearly communicate to property team strategic vision and objectives on how to drive revenue and improve performance
  • Communicate current selling strategies and necessary updates to affected departments such as Front Office, Reservations and Sales
  • Lead the property’s weekly Revenue Strategy Meeting
  • Contribute and provide revenue management strategic plans during monthly topline meetings and Corporate Property Reviews
  • Responsible for effective implementation and compliance with BHMA Revenue Management standards
  • Full understand and effective execution of all RM tools including, PMS, RMS, STR, Rate shopping tool, Travelclick and any other new tools or reports developed.
  • Compliance to BHMA rate plans, market segmentation and inventory classification
  • Ensure Best Rate Guarantee compliance and maintain rate parity agreement with Third Party Partners
  • Ensure team members understand the concept of Revenue Management and the role of the Area Revenue Manager

Job Qualifications & Skills:

  • Required a minimum of 2 years of Revenue Manager or related discipline experience, additional hotel management experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Effective time management skills, people skills & communications skills
  • Excellent command of English both written and spoken
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Organized, detail oriented and accurate in work
  • Enthusiastic, able to motivate, efficient and effective work practices
  • Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to learn new technologies easily
  • Confidence and ability to work under pressure
  • Organizational and Time Management skills
  • Analytical and numerical skills
  • Knowledge in MS Office Applications, HMS, Opera, Comanche, Travelclick CRS is an advantage
